Woking-based Optichrome bought the Wohlenberg machine to replace an ageing guillotine.
Chairman Ted Stephens said that the company had long used the product, with this being its second 115, adding that it had used Wohlenberg machines for more than 20 years.
Stephens said: "Guillotines are not sexy, but at the end of the day they are the cornerstone of any print business. Most people don’t even notice they have one until it goes wrong, which is why it is important to have a good one."
The investment was the UK’s first Wohlenberg guillotine since UK sales of the German company moved to Friedheim in October 2009.
Optichrome has also installed a DSF 5000 bookletmaker from Friedheim’s Finishing Alliance stablemate Duplo.
