Online booking for Ipex to premiere this year

Ipex organiser IIR Exhibitions is beta testing a web-based registration system

Ipex organiser IIR Exhibitions is beta testing a web-based registration system that will allow visitors to next years show to register via < a href = "http://www.ipex.org" target = "new">www.ipex.org.

The system, which is poised to go live shortly, will be available in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish.

Ipex marketing director Ashley Whitworth said: "Although we had a website for Ipex 98, it is fair to say it was more of an added extra and not really an integral part of the marketing campaign."

But he said the change in emphasis of communication channels had been "phenomenal" since the last Ipex, so the marketing campaign for next years show had been designed to drive visitors to the website.

"Its the quickest and easiest way to register for the show while communicating vast amounts of information."

Visitors who register over the website will gain access to benefits, including reduced price entry tickets, a free pre-show planner, discounted show catalogue, and CD-ROM and VIP passport to Birmingham.

Exhibitors also have secure access to the website so they can update their profiles.

As it increases its marketing effort, IIR will play host to 70 journalists from around the globe at the end of November.

It will hold a series of events from 18-22 November, including a site visit and seminars. Indigo, Xerox and PrintCity will be among nine exhibitors detailing their plans for the exhibition, while Pira will present its view of the state of the industry.
