The commercial wide-format printer has taken the opportunity afforded by the installation to add to its usual order list of vehicle decals, retail signage and promotional graphics with new services.
Key among them for Oasis is art reproduction. The Nyala, with six colours, white and varnish, roll-to-roll capability and a maximum resolution of 1,350 dpi, has allowed the business to take on demanding clients’ requests for reproduction work in full confidence, while adding new finishes like varnish and textured prints to its service list.
Building on the company’s stable of Vutek and Fuji Acuity flatbed presses, the Nyala has likewise allowed Oasis to step into the interior furnishings market by printing a variety of finishes roll-to-roll.
Lisa Osborne, Oasis’ co-director, said: “Confidence in quality and creativity of print from our Nyala has encouraged us to sample and test a variety of new effects for our clients.
“Whereas before we’d be showing off samples that were as close as we could get to the client's idea, we can now provide them with results exactly as they have specified, and in a number of cases, over and beyond what they ever expected."
The new variety in the firm’s product offering has become clear to clients, with enquiries for bespoke printing on the rise, according to Osborne.
The arrival of the new press has helped to secure Oasis’ post-pandemic growth, which has seen the company expand from £1.16m at the end of 2020 to expected receipts of £2m in 2023.
The company is hiring accordingly, with a post-pandemic team of 12 now up to 14, with several more hires to join the team imminently.
Stephen Pridham, SwissQprint's UK sales manager, said he was delighted at the impact the new machine has had for the team: "Oasis knew that the Nyala would enable them to open new opportunities and it is fantastic to see how the investment is now truly delivering for the business."
