"I won’t comment on how we plan to get market confidence, but can say that it is being addressed at the very highest level," he said. "From the start of June there have been no links between Xeikon and Koonras, the new company owner."
Nipson has renamed the former Xeikon machines the Nipson 7000, Nipson 8000 and the Nipson VaryPress.
The 600dpi Nipson 8000, which was launched at the back end of last year, was shown at Ipex, and Verghote said he was "confident that we will sell a lot".
Nipson UK, based in Crawley, is offering maintenance and consumables supplies to customers throughout the UK and Ireland. The company also has subsidiaries in the US and Germany.
Israel Orgad, chairman of the Nipson SAS supervisory board, said: "By strengthening our worldwide sales and distribution channels we plan to rapidly expand our market position in key segments such as direct mail, on-demand printing, identifications and other applications."
Xeikon was declared bankrupt four months ago (PrintWeek, 8 March). Its colour assets were bought by Punch after MAN Roland and Yam International pulled out of the bidding, then the following month Xeikon’s black-and-white assets were bought by Koonras Digital Printing, which reverted the firm to its original name of Nipson (PrintWeek, 12 April).
