The PLC went live with its new look this morning (2 October), in a move instigated by fresh CEO J Schwan, who took over from Matt Armitage in August.
As well as the name change, the marketing services group said the relaunch also involved a new operating model, The Connective, “to enable seamless collaboration across a global ecosystem of 1,500 technologists, strategists and creatives”.
The company explained its new name, thus: “Kin, as in family, represents the Connective's emphases on connection and collaboration. Carta, meaning map, underscores the Connective's mission to help our clients navigate the new digital world, while plotting a clear path to growth for our people and our shareholders.”
St Ives disposed of its remaining printing operations earlier this year, with the sale of SP Group and Service Graphics to SelmerBridge in March, book printer Clays to Elcograf in May, and its SIMS print management business to Paragon Group in June.
The group’s results for the year to 3 August, which will include the effects of its exit from print, will be announced next week.
Schwan said the rebrand “sets the seal on the old St Ives”.
“Today we start on our growth journey powered by continuing organic growth and the acquisition of further breadth in our offering to clients,” he stated.
Kin + Carta shares fell by 4.75% to 98.01p on the news.
