MTL unveils Meital 302/16 at Fespa

Israeli wide-format developer MTL Print presented its latest machine, the Meital 302/16 at Fespa Digital.

Using 16 Xaar 1001 print heads with 360dpi native resolution and variable droplet size from 6-42 picolitres, the 302/16 can produce 300sqm per hour.

At the show the firm was printing photo quality images at 150sqm per hour and the quality of the output met with a positive reception from visitors.

The 1.25x2.5m UV-cured machine uses a unique configuration with two interchangeable tables allowing one to be loaded while the other is printed. The 302 is a development of the 301, which was demonstrated at Drupa 2008.

The four-colour machine can be fitted with an optional fifth colour for white, varnish or spot colour printing and can be integrated with screen printing units.

MTL says it has already secured sales in Europe and the US and is in the process of appointing an international network of dealers.

Based in Magshimim, it is run by two wide-format digital pioneers, Moshe Nur, the founder of Nur Macroprinters and Kobi Markovitch, who has 20 years experience in digital print.
