The £20m-turnover printer has added MLG Edinburgh to its existing businesses MLG Glasgow, MLG Perth, Scotprint and Hunter & Foulis.
MLG's new company will be based in Haddington, alongside bookbinder Hunter & Foulis.
The company has taken on 20 new staff from failed local printer Summerhall Press, which suffered a tumultuous end to 2008 when it went into administration and then liquidation in the space of a month.
Thomas Montgomery, managing director of MLG, said: "The arrival of the new team with their expertise, supported by our recent major investment, fits very well with the formidable litho print and bindery services already in the group, and enhances the range of product, service and value to our clients."
Alan Yorkston has been appointed to head up the MLG Edinburgh, which will be furnished with a range of new kit, including two Xerox Nuvera 288 high-speed mono digital printers, a Xerox 700 full-colour digital press with in-line finishing and a Buhrs BB700 inserter with system channel and camera matching.
Yorkston told PrintWeek that the machines would be installed and running by the end of February.
