The Belfast-based commercial printer has cut the lead times of it's wide-format output with the investment, while enabling it to expand into the production of canvas prints, exhibition and vehicle graphics.
Minprint's 1.6m-wide print system was supplied by Mimaki reseller Dennis D Evans and has been installed at the 35-year-old company's 111.5sqm Northern Ireland facility.
The Mimaki machines complement an existing print setup that includes Heidelberg presses and Xerox digital production printers.
Jamie McMinnis, director at Minprint, said the new additions had helped increase productivity while expanding the company's product portfolio.
He said: "We’ve seen the new Mimaki hardware ramp up our production since its installation. The technology is so impressive that along with our new printer we have purchased a CG160-FXII plotter.
"It’s ideal for kiss cut and half cut labels but also useful for window graphics and all aspects of signage."
One year ago, the company became the first Northern Irish company to install a Heidelberg TH 56 Stahlfolder.
