The Mimaki Media Certification Program (MMCP) covers Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and is open for any media suitable for the JV400LX printer.

"There is no official listing but companies like Avery, Neschen, Heytex, Hexis and others have joined the program," said Mimaki Europe marketing manager Mike Horsten. "We expect the first releases by the end of this month."

Media profiling firm Color Concepts will be carrying out the certification and colour profiling for the programme. Approved media will be promoted by Mimaki at events, starting with Fespa London in June. The firm is also producing a swatch book, which approved suppliers can have their products included in.

Colour profiles to use with the approved media will be available for Mimaki users to download for free from www.mymimaki.com once the site is launched.

Mimaki expects to expand the programme to other printers and ink technologies in the future.
