The machine, which will be available from the end of March, features an adhesive belt carrier system that stabilises flexible materials that stretch during printing.
According to Mimaki, the TX400-1800B allows large-format textile printers to move towards short-run production and away from screen printing. It can run at speeds of up to 25 sqm/h at 600dpi in eight-colour mode.
The digital press also offers ink and cost reductions and, according to Mimaki, it will be "one of the most environmentally friendly large-format printers for digital textile printing".
It automatically switches ink supply from an empty cartridge to a full one of the same colour using its Uninterrupted Ink Supply System.
The machine also features three different types of ink: reactive dye ink, acid dye ink and dye sublimation ink.
