Posting on LinkedIn on Wednesday (10 July), Roberts said he would take up the position while also continuing in his role as managing director of PMG.
He commented: “Having originally approached JPS seven years ago, I'm honoured to lead the business into its next chapter alongside the incredible teams at JPS and PMG.
“This strategic move enhances our scale and service offerings for our current clients, prospects, and potential clients.”
Fellow Yorkshire print management company John Petty Services, known as JPS, was set up by John Petty just over 30 years ago. He was joined three years later by his sister Bridget Petty.
The business specialises in the management of the full range of customer communications and has tailored offerings across print, mailing, postage, and point-of-sale.
John Petty retired last year but Bridget Petty remained as the company’s managing director.
The January acquisition saw the JPS branding and all of its staff retained, boosting PMG’s group headcount following the completion of the deal to 19.
Roberts had said at the time that there were some overlaps with the supply chains of the two companies – although not as many as one might expect – but that they would be run as two completely independent businesses with Roberts the common denominator.
Production agnostic independent print management agency PMG, which was founded in 2003, is based in Birstall while JPS is 50 minutes’ drive away in Otley. Both companies have a hybrid working model.
