The Reydon, Suffolk commercial printer took over a majority stake in Callimedia last week.
Micropress finance director Jackie Potter has become a director at the acquired business, which is based in Dedham to the north of Colchester.
Micropress director Rob Cross said the two companies had worked together for a long time and he was excited about the future opportunities.
“We have always enjoyed a great relationship with Callimedia and the current owner approached us as he was looking to retire. We looked at the business and it has done very well over the last two years despite the challenging marketplace so it seemed like a great opportunity.”
Former owner Douglas Suttle acquired the firm in a pre-pack deal two years ago after the old Callimedia business went down after being hit with a huge bad debt.
Callimedia offers a range of print procurement services including catalogues, brochures, mailers, inserts, point-of-sale and packaging, as well as postage and personalisation, and paper optimisation.
Cross added: “The business will continue to trade independently as a print management company from their offices in Dedham near Colchester, working with its current customer and supplier base.
“Essentially nothing will change day-to-day although with the ‘back office’ support we can provide we intend to grow and take the business forward.”
Cross said that Callimedia’s work mix was predominantly web offset and gravure, and “we don’t see any conflict of interest”.
He said Suttle would remain in the business for the foreseeable future to ensure a smooth transition.
Micropress employs around 160 staff and the firm expects sales to exceed £20m this year.
