Metrix 1.7 supports up to 160 products of varying sizes, shapes and numbers on a single sheet by using a JDF, created by Adobe Acrobat, to control imposition.
In previous versions, Metrix relied on third-party desktop imposition packages such as Kodak Preps to handle content.
"Anyone with a copy of Creative Suite 2 can produce the right sort of PDFs, and a wide range of pre-press workflows already handle JDF data, so this simplifies the production process and makes turnaround of ganged jobs faster," said Alan Dixon, technical director of Metrix's UK distributor Positive Focus.
Single user versions of Metrix 1.7 cost 3,495 (standard edition) and 5,495 (production edition).
