"We wanted to make used machinery a proper part of our business and try and do something with it," said the firm's used machinery specialist Mark Stribley.
The firm will offer refurbishment and maintenance packages designed for individual customers. "We'll just tailor them to suit the budget of the customer," said Stribley.
He added that he didn't see Direct as a rival to independent used dealers. "We're going to continue to work with them."
He said it will just offer advice, additional peace of mind and a viable alternative to buying new, as well as a way for firms to help finance investment in new kit if that's the route they take.
The service will use MAN GB's existing network of engineers and sales staff.
