The company, which acquired The Midas Press last September to form an £11.5m business, has also taken delivery of a Stahlfolder KH66 and a Stitchmaster ST450 saddle-stitcher.
According to Nick Lee, managing director at LPC Printing, the company is already achieving 10-minute makereadies on the press, which has replaced an existing SM 74 model.
He said: "Inpress Control is absolutely fantastic in getting to and maintaining colour throughout a run and combined with Autoplate XL automated plate changing it eats through multi-section work and makes life much easier for the operator."
The company's increased finishing firepower has enabled LPC to replace an older ST100 saddle-stitcher while the new KH 66 combination folder has boosted capacity in its folding operation.
Both LPC and Farnborough-based Midas are Heidelberg houses with the latter specialising in B1 production.
Lee added: "There are three reasons why we return to Heidelberg repeatedly. They are substantially larger than rival suppliers and so the R&D continues to keep pace.
"The source of minders you can attract when you buy a Heidelberg is much broader. And finally the service and repair base is critical when we are working 24/7 across both sites."
LPC Printing upgrades press and finishing with Heidelberg spend
LPC Printing has invested in a raft of new equipment, including a 10-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 75 perfector, to maximise pressroom efficiency at the Southampton-based business.
