The Reading-based business installed an Elite XT perfect binder, a CaseMatic H46Pro large-format case maker, a BooXter softback book stapler, FotoMount F46e large-format photobook maker with a ‘lay flat’ design and a C47 creaser.
Letterworks has invested in new technology in recent years in order to offer print-on-demand services such as variable-data manipulation.
The Fastbind spend brings finishing in-line with the rest of the firm’s technology.
Joint director Karen Brown said: "We aim to keep abreast of new technology that can help us grow. After we saw the Fastbind products, we felt it could be a valuable niche for us to make hard and soft back books at different prices.
"The market is changing to very short run products; it is a great opportunity to hopefully win some long-run jobs too. We’ve got some exciting plans to set up a website with different templates so customers can send artwork online for us to print and finish."
