As part of its transition, the LCP has appointed Alan Springett to head up its new integrated colour studio department.
“The college was looking for a print technologist with an appreciation and experience of colour print and Alan fitted the bill,” said Claridge.
“We wanted to get our print technology element back on track and he will be in charge of how we analyse and dictate the way forward.”
The new integrated colour studio is set to be completed in the next six weeks, and Claridge said it would give the college a new lease of life.
Springett, a former printer with Fulmar Colour Printing, graduated from the LCP last year with a BA (Hons) degree in print management and has progressed from the role of senior lecturer to course leader.
As part of his new role Springett will also be course director of the National Diploma in Printing.
Claridge said the college had been encouraged by the response to its new printing foundation online degree course, which he felt was good in light of the current competitive college course environment.
