Talaton-based Larkbeare will replace two older Wohlenberg machines, one of which has been its lead guillotine for eight years, with the 115 plus Baumann handling equipment, a jogger, pile hoist and re-stacker.
Larkbeare managing director Neil Oakley said that the previous machine had served the firm well, adding: "As it was the lead it has been worked hard for eight years – it was time to upgrade."
Larkbeare also installed a James Burn EX610 automatic punch and a spiral binding line earlier this year.
Oakley added that the company would be looking for fresh opportunities in the new year: "We are looking for growth now. I don’t want to look back into a recession – the question is: how can we grow the business?"
Larkbeare eyes growth after 100k kit spend
