More than 1,200 EFI users attended, to train on a raft of new launches and add-ons.
At the event, Chief executive Guy Gecht (pictured) called on commercial printers to increase their personalisation capabilities in response to multi-channel advertising.
The firm said it intended to double its web-to-print offerings over the next two years and had integrated its PrinterSite Exchange web-to-print solution with its new MIS, Hagen OA version 9.0.
The integration means customers can submit jobs from the web while printers can manage planning, production, scheduling, invoicing and accounting of jobs within MIS, in real-time.
"As printers extend their offerings to the digital world, automation is a key factor in retaining margins in this fast turnaround, lower price per-job product," said EFI product manager Jennifer Matt.
PrinterSite fulfilment is now fully operational with XMPie personalisation. It also integrates with USAData, a service that allows printers to rent direct-mailing lists for their clients.
"PrinterSite Exchange's proposition is two-fold: extend printers' product offerings and value-added services via the web, and reduce printers' operating costs with automation/integration into their existing print management systems," said Matt.
