Progressive, already a Komori house, began looking for a new press after upgrading its pre- and post-press kit.
Managing director Paul Shotton said: "I decided in favour of MAN Roland but was advised to wait for the launch of Komori's B2 press."
Shotton cancelled his order for a Roland 505LV after a demonstration of Komori's five-colour Lithrone S529.
MAN Roland sheetfed sales director Gary Doman said: "Ultimately the economics of the industry drove him back to Komori."
Progressive placed an order for the LS529 after a visit to last month's Workshop 06 at Komori UK in Leeds.
