The company, which is owned by the Lego family Kirk-Kristiansen, has bought an additional 29% plus one shares in Esko-Graphics, freeing up Belgian co-owner Barco to focus on its core business of image processing.
Kirkbi managing director Bent Pederson said: Wed like to see Esko-Graphics take part in the consolidation necessary in a segment with overcapacity. As a long-term investor, were convinced it will reach its goals and generate earnings.
Esko-Graphics new president and chief executive, Kim Graven-Nielsen, joined the company on 1 May from Thomson Corporation.
The company has also named Paul Bates as its UK and Ireland sales manager for packaging. He will work alongside a four-strong sales team, but will continue to look after North East accounts from his previous role.
