KBA needed a thermal machine to be able to image the available waterless CTP plates used by the Genius.
Plates qualified for use by the Genius that can be exposed by the Lotem 200 include three processed plates from Toray and Presstek's processless Pearldry plate.
The 12-plate per hour semi-automatic machine will cost around 60,000. As part of the deal KBA will also sell other parts of the Creo product range.
"We will be able to sell virtually all Creo's range," said KBA UK sales director Mark Nixon, who was formerly Creo UK sales director.
Creo will provide KBA with marketing, sales support and training under the deal. It will also handle installation, technical support and service for Lotem 200 users.
