The new device was installed at the high street branch on 1 March and is in addition to the shop’s existing kit.
Owner Phil Beverley said: “It means we’re able to bring binding fully in-house, which means being able to keep on top of the quality and keep an eye on the whole job from start to finish.
“It’s not a hard piece of kit to use but we will take time to make sure we’re really running well with it and then I think photobooks will be an area we will push into,” he added.
He said the device would boost the company’s output, capacity and productivity.
The Duplo perfect binder is the latest investment for the business after it installed a Duplo DB-150 saddle-stitcher at the end of last year. The device replaced an older bookletmaker and Beverley, who bought the business in 2018, said that again it had allowed the work to come in-house and had been used non-stop since it was installed.
Other finishing kit run at the five-staff business includes a Renz wire binder and a Vivid laminator, while print power includes a Xerox Versant 280, an HP DesignJet Z9+, an HP DesignJet T2530 and a Canon ImagePrograf Pro-1000.
Beverley said he would also be looking to invest in a creasing/folding machine in the near future.
