According to the Glasgow-based company’s production schedule manager Tom Lightbody, the new machine will enable it to run its machine at full speed.
The central cooling has been fitted to a Heidelberg B2 Speedmaster CD 74-L-Y-9+L-YY-L-X3(UV). The machine has nine units and three coaters. It is the first time that JWP has turned to a centralised water-cooling system.
According to the company, it can now keep its dampening under control and keep the area around the press cooler.
Lightbody said: "This technotrans central cooling device is very important for quality but more so for speed. We can run at 15,000sph confidently, knowing that the viscosity of the ink will be better and that we will achieve good and consistent ink transfer."
JWP offers a range of services and handles a large number of high-end packaging jobs including wet labels, tube and box wraps primarily for the whisky market.
The company has a turnover of almost £10m and employs more than 100 staff.
