The Lindfield, West Sussex-based web-to-print developer was founded by CEO Douglas Gibson in December 2010 but pushed its celebrations back by a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The delay enabled Infigo’s UK sales, marketing, operations, technical support, development, and customer success teams to gather at its head office to toast the achievement and see each other in person for the first time since March 2020.
While staff from the European and US offices had to attend virtually, Gibson said having the company’s UK staff together was “a very special moment”.
Addressing the 40-staff global team at the event, Gibson said: “It’s been a journey, particularly over the last couple of years. We’ve had to learn from working in new environments. I’m sure there are lots more things over the next 12-18 months that we’re going to have to get used to. But the reality is we all have and can lean on each other.
“Perhaps we overuse the word family at Infigo, but I strongly believe we are a family, supporting each other in good times and bad. We’ve had some ups and downs over the last few years, as many businesses have, but we’ve certainly been very resilient.”
Gibson originally established Infigo because he felt there were too many products on the market that were too expensive and complex.
“So we wanted to create something that was easy for the printers to use, easy for them to manage and didn’t cost a hundred thousand pounds to set up. That was the biggest driving factor.”
He said partnerships with businesses including HP, Tharstern, PrintIQ, and Enfocus have been pivotal to the company’s success and growth.
The business spent the lockdown downtime planning a full rebrand, including a redesign of the website, and the development of several upgrades to its web-to-print platform. It now plans to focus on sustained growth over the next decade.
“In our 10th year, we have never been stronger, we’ve got all the right things in place,” said Gibson.
“That’s one of the things that I've learned. Everybody says it takes three years to find out if you’re going to still be around. But I think it takes longer to be really a good business, that's got resolve, to grow, to add value and not to just be one of these fly-by-nights.
“It’s important to ask yourself ‘we’ve done 10 years but how do the next 10 years look?’ So learning from your experiences is one of the key factors for growth.”
Infigo is also currently working towards B Corporation certification. Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.
“This isn’t it; we’ve got lots left to do but I believe as a business we’ve never been stronger.
“We have all the right people; we have the best technology, and we have lots of new exciting features coming out,” he added.
“I’m massively energised and there’s a lot more we’re going to get done over the next two to three years. Infigo’s thriving and I feel truly blessed.”
