Howard Hunt boosts output with 1m investment

Direct mail printer Howard Hunt Group has completed a 1m investment in technology and now can boast a daily output of 2m mailpacks.

The Dartford-based company has streamlined production following the installation of two BB700 enclosing lines, a Horizon digital book maker, a fully automated T700 MBO folder, and three variable energy efficient compressors.

A pit stop DH speed crease and perforator and a guillotine system have also been added.

Assistant managing director Lucy Edwards said the company believes smart investment improves systems, processes and manufacturing output.

She said: "In a time when clients are demanding quicker routes to market so they can react to ever-changing market conditions, by investing in faster technology we can help our clients get to market quicker.

"Investment in personalisation will help our clients improve their marketing communications and target their customers more effectively, which will improve their response rates and ROI – essential in the current marketplace."

The company has an ongoing strategy of investment and will continue to improve and upgrade its technology to ensure it has the latest and most innovative people, systems, processes and equipment.

Edwards said: "We’re all facing tough economic conditions for the next 12 months. For us, continuous improvement in everything we do is key and it is vital that we continue to communicate with our clients, listen to them and deliver what they require."

In October last year, the £50m-turnover company installed a Mitsubishi Diamond 3000TP press.

The press is targeted at the medium to long run markets and reinforces Howard Hunt Group's position as Mitsubishi's largest customer in Europe.
