Claren Print’s creditors’ meeting took place last Wednesday (19 October) at the offices of liquidators Wilson Field at Hamilton House, London.

In a short statement, Wilson Field said: “Insolvency specialists Wilson Field have been engaged to deal with the liquidation of Claren Print Limited who were based in Lancing, West  Sussex. Emma Bower and Robert Dymond were appointed as liquidators on 19th October.”

A spokesman added: "We don’t anticipate making any further comment."

A source told PrintWeek that Claren, which offered a variety of services, including brochures, leaflets, direct mail and banners, was now trading as Empire Printworks.

The businesses both have the same Lancing, West Sussex address listed on their respective websites and Companies House lists Paul Daniel Green as the sole director of both businesses.

Empire Printworks was incorporated on 18 May 2016 and offers a similar range of print services to Claren, including brochures, leaflets and business cards.

PrintWeek contacted Green but he did not wish to comment.

Claren Print is listed as one of the creditors of Houseprint, the Wales-based print farmer that has been accused by a number of people of taking orders for print jobs, collecting deposits and not delivering on the orders. Claren is owed £12,024, making it the third biggest of Houseprint’s numerous creditors.

Last week, Houseprint went into compulsory liquidation. Its director blamed non-payments of £500,000 from suppliers, along with it suffering from the fall in the pound’s value against the euro after the Brexit vote.
