Highland buys 50,000 MIS

Highland Printers has invested 50,000 in a 20-user management information system (MIS) from Shuttleworth Business Systems.

The Inverness-based printer took the decision to replace its Logic/Covalent system after realising it had become overstretched.

Having looked at a number of major MIS suppliers, the firm chose the Shuttleworth on the basis of its administrative, productive and financial controls.

"We liked the fact that Shuttleworth MIS provided us with a single window through which our entire business could be viewed and controlled," said chief executive Trudy Morris.

Full implementation of the Shuttleworth system will be completed by the end of this month.

B2 printing firm Highland has a turnover of 3m and specialises in providing end-to-end services for the production of short to medium run magazines, for a number of institutes, associations and publishers of periodicals.
