Praised for 'significant contribution'

Heidelberg CFO to step down at year-end

Tania von der Goltz has been in the post for just over two years

Heidelberg CFO Tania von der Goltz – the first woman to sit on its management board – will step down at the end of this month.

Goltz joined the business in January 2023. She was recruited by then-CEO Dr Ludwin Monz, and the pair had worked together previously at Carl Zeiss Meditec. Monz left last summer.

Heidelberg announced that von der Goltz had informed the supervisory board earlier this week that she would not be extending her contract beyond its current term, and would step down at the end of the manufacturer’s current financial year on 31 March.

Dr Martin Sonnenschein, chairman of Heidelberg’s supervisory board, thanked von der Goltz for the results achieved during her tenure and wished her every success for the future.

"The supervisory board respects Tania von der Goltz's decision. Despite a challenging market environment, Tania von der Goltz, in her role as CFO, has made a significant contribution to improving the profitability and liquidity of Heidelberg and strengthening the company's financial power,” he said.

Von der Goltz thanked colleagues and board, and supervisory board members for their support and commented: "I feel connected to the employees of Heidelberg and the company. I look back with great gratitude on the valuable time and support that I have experienced here.

“Together, we have laid the foundations for the company's future success over the past few years. Heidelberg is well positioned for the future.”

Sonnenschein said that CEO Jürgen Otto and chief sales and technology officer Dr David Schmedding would continue to implement the efficiency increases and cost reductions that had previously been introduced.

Otto will take over management of the finance functions until further notice and a replacement is appointed.

Heidelberg also confirmed its forecasts for the financial year. In February the business said it expected a strong final quarter.

The group is celebrating its 175th anniversary this year.
