Training on an array of courses that include everything from electronics, mechatronics, and industrial mechanics to computing, business administration and logistics, Heidelberg’s latest intake can choose to take up either a full apprenticeship or a dual-study programme.
“The challenging training at Heidelberg is a central pillar of the company's competitiveness as a total solutions provider," said CEO Jürgen Otto.
"We want the best trainees who are motivated and willing to perform. Numerous interesting career opportunities are open to them in the most diverse areas of a digital and international company."
Encouraging women to enter a traditionally male-dominated field has been a particular focus for the business in recent years, and 2024 also marks the advent of the firm’s three-day internship for female school pupils. The all-female group, Heidelberg said, will give participants the chance to hone their technical and manual skills while making connections.
“We want to encourage young women in particular to take an interest in exciting future topics and convince them of our attractive and high-quality training opportunities,” said Otto.
Heidelberg’s 2024 intake is slimmer than 2023’s group of around 150 apprentices, but this year includes five trainees from cooperating companies, under Heidelberg’s ‘Training for third parties’ initiative.
According to 2023 statistics, an average of 98% of Heidelberg trainees stay with the company after completing their training.
