In the early 1970s, Hamilton established HDP, in Shoreham, Sussex, which grew to become a major consumables supplier to the industry.

He was a popular local musician and band leader around the South East and an active contributor and supporter of the Variety Club of Great Britain.

He leaves behind his partner Nikki and his four children – David, Ann-Marie, Laura and John.

A memorial service will be held on Friday 2 October at 12pm, St Margarets Church, The Green, Rottingdean, Brighton, East Sussex.
