The Stockton-On-Tees based company had been using a Shuttleworth MIS before Shuttleworth was acquired by EFI, so felt it was a natural upgrade to update to the new version, which was shown for the first time at Drupa.
EFI said sales of the MIS had increased dramatically since its Drupa showing.
Harrison sales director Mike Baum said he was “really excited” about potential future improvements that the suite could bring to the business and that the MIS would “streamline” Harrison’s front-end capabilities.
Packaging Suite 4.0 is a fully automated ERP-based program for the packaging and labels sectors.
It has 20 certified workflows, which combine EFI’s Radius ERP solution with modular components from EFI’s portfolio.
It also has new estimating and planning components, with job capabilities for folding cartons. Its Packaging Suite Workbench is designed to save companies on excess capacity by streamlining the flow of information for estimators and customer service personnel based on specific job duties.
EFI regional vice-president of sales Paul Cripps said: "Drupa 2016 was an excellent opportunity for EFI to advance the cause for integrated, automated efficiency for even the most complex packaging workflows using the new advancements added to our Packaging Suite.
"We are excited to have a respected, leading carton supplier like Harrison Packaging continue its evolution in workflow technologies."
Harrison refers to itself as one of Europe’s longest-serving independent suppliers of printed cartons. It supplies packaging products to the healthcare, food and household markets.
EFI is currently on track for $1bn annual turnover after it reported a 21% increase in revenue in the second quarter of 2016.
