The equipment spend has increased the Billericay, Essex-based printer's capacity to handle short-run work, especially for its dedicated printflyers website.
Since it was installed, the new press has handled shorter runs – up to 5,000 – while the longer run jobs are carried out on the company's four-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster 52.
The 10-staff business, which was established in 1957, opted for the Screen machine as it offered quick makeready times coupled with a high quality of print.
Keith Young, managing director of Grayam Press, said: "There have been other DI machines around that haven't been as successful or as good as this one. If you have the right application of work, the right mix, then it fits."
The printer's website, which now accounts for 30% of business, allows customers to choose from a range of leaflets, brochures and other stationery that are "ideal" for the Truepress, according to Young.
He added: "With the Truepress 344, as makereadies are so much faster, we can reduce the cost to the customer and make some money ourselves."
