Gravure facing a difficult year says ERA

The European gravure print industry will have a less successful year in 2002 than in 2001, according to the European Rotogravure Associations (ERA) new survey.

Overcapacity, consolidation, competition from web offset and the US economic downturn will hit demand.

But printers expected raw material prices to fall, while they thought they might also benefit from a fall in online ads and increased demand from Russia.
