GPS marks 100 years in business

GPS Colour Graphics has marked its 100th year of trading with a 300,000 investment in digital print and a website relaunch.

The Belfast-based printer, which has been in operation under various ownerships for 215 years, is celebrating a century of trading as an incorporated company.

It has installed a Xerox CP1000 digital press along with a new web-to-print system, and has taken on an additional 15 staff, taking its total to 70, after winning new contracts.

Owner Derek Bell said: "The print industry has obviously changed significantly over the last century but the core of how GPS does business remains the same."

Bell said of the company’s new web-to-print software, called PrintStore: "This saves time, reduces cost and increases speed to market, which we know from our research is important to our clients."
