Initially supporting GMG's ColorServer and InkOptimizer packages, the integration with Switch makes it possible to increase productivity and production reliability, according to GMG.
One claimed benefit of the integration is that, by right clicking on any PDF, it is possible to convert the PDF into a new managed colour space, which GMG UK technical sales consultant Simon Landau has described as "very clever".
As well as automating production, Switch also provides a management layer that allows the status of jobs to be tracked.
In time, the company plans to include support for its proofing tools ColorProof, DotProof and FlexoProof in FlowConnect.
FlowConnect costs €1,450 (£1,300) for new installations with ColorServer or, alternatively, €2,880 to upgrade existing installations.
GMG enables integration between Switch and its own colour software
GMG has launched FlowConnect, a software tool that integrates its colour management software with Enfocus' Switch workflow automation technology.
