The Dresden, Germany-based company, which runs an online print operation called print24, is using the Speedmaster XL 162-8P for commercial and mixed forms work in short runs.
The press is configured with Prinect Inpress Control for colour and registration precision as well as a three-drum perfecting device with Perfect Jacket Technology.
It also includes a new type of delivery device, which uses multiple gripper units at the front and rear edges of sheets in the transport and another set of grippers to slow and deliver the sheets.
This makes a sheet guide plate and sheet brakes redundant. It removes the possibility of ink contamination through ink on the sheet plate guide and means the untrimmed sheet format size can be reduced by around 50mm which, on a well utilised press, can result in savings of more than £100,000 a year in material costs.
