Chief executive Geoff Neal said the direct mail printer needed a platesetter with "exceptional throughput" to cope with rising plate volume and to reduce pre-press time.

"It was important to remove any bottlenecks within the system and installing the new platesetter has helped dramatically," he added. "We have increased our turnover by 20%, while remaining competitive in this continuing tough market."

The 8800Z uses Grating Light Value technology to output up to 42 plates per hour. Integral plate punching and a multicassette plate loader help to reduce handling time and ensures plates are quickly on press.
