All 25 staff at central London repro house Garden Leaves have been made redundant after it was placed into liquidation.
Garden Leaves was formed after directors Gary and Mark McLeod bought Mechs Creative Services with the understanding that it would handle all Cable & Wireless repro work. It also bought print for C&W.
Liquidator Paul Ellison of Hurst Morrison Thompson said: "Well be reporting to creditors within three months." He refused to be drawn on the circumstances of the firms demise.
A source said that two printers were owed around 45,000 each for work carried out for Garden Leaves for its client C&W.
The managing director of one of the printers said: "Last week we issued a writ for money we were owed from Garden Leaves, but it was rejected as the directors had already liquidated."
C&W came under fire in 1999 after a company set up to handle its print buying, Strong Grid, went into receivership while pursuing C&W for 800,000 (PrintWeek, 12 February 1999).
A spokesman for C&W said: "There are no outstanding invoices for work in progress."
