Fuji launches 'Pure PDF' logo for XMF workflow

Fujifilm Europe has introduced a new 'Pure PDF' logo in relation to its XMF cross-media workflow, in order to reflect the fact that it only processes native PDF files.

XMF was the first workflow to use the Adobe PDF Print Engine (APPE) to natively process PDF files and, according to Fuji, it is the only workflow based solely on the APPE RIP.

"Fujifilm-developed RIP and workflow solutions will no longer be based on CPSI technology," said workflow business strategy manager John Davies.

"Our flagship XMF cross-media workflow will continue to be developed solely on APPE as we strongly believe that this is the only way to ensure the most efficient true cross-media production today and in the future."

Fujifilm said that incoming PostScript files would be normalised to PDF as in Adobe Acrobat and handled from there, while separated PostScript will not be supported.
