Having grown its turnover to more than £4.5m - a 20% boost - Fretwell needed to upgrade its guillotine in order to keep up with the rest of its facilities.
Fretwell handles a lot of short-run work and intends to move into digital printing in the near future. Commercial director Andy Gillett said that the £70,000 Polar was perfect for its run lengths.
He said: "The faster cutting and the programming best suited the large amount of short-run, fast-turnaround work across a range of jobs using a variety of stocks and formats.
"In making this move, we are well positioned for our imminent move into digital print."
Currently, the company is a litho only house, with two B2 Speedmasters, a CD 74-5PLX and a SM 74-4PH.
Fretwell's clients include print managers, financial service companies, retail businesses and third-sector organisations.
