The new match means greater accuracy in costing jobs, reduced human error and improved scheduling, according to Fujifilm Graphic Systems.
Workflow solutions manager Andy Walker said the system would offer "tangible benefits with the management of information throughout the workflow".
It allows users to import jobs as a JDF from the MIS into Fuji's product. A job and customer number are created and all customer details transferred via Pathway, the open JDF interface within the Fuji system. Additionally, material consumption information is supplied automatically.
Double entry of data is eliminated, said Fuji, adding that it is working with a variety of MIS suppliers in addition to Shuttleworth.
Based around industry standards such as JDF and PDF, Fuji Open Workflow was designed to support output devices from a variety of manufacturers.
The single-page workflow can be configured into a single PC system or distributed across multiple PCs. Its features include automatic in-RIP trapping, integrated pre-flight, auto imposition, built-in OPI and digital proofing.
