Foster has worked in the industry for more than 35 years. He spent seven years at fellow online printing giant Saxoprint where he was senior sales executive for its UK business.
Most recently he held the same position at PDF accessibility specialist AbleDocs.
Foster took up the new role this month. He reports to Solopress managing director Simon Cooper, who described Foster as “the perfect fit” for the job.
Foster has been tasked with onboarding new business and maintaining key customer relationships, as well as growing new business.
“Not only will print buyers learn more about how our current catalogue can support their business, but we also hope to identify areas where new products and variations could better meet their needs,” Cooper said.
Foster commented: “I’m thrilled to be joining Solopress at this exciting point in their journey. I prefer a consultative approach over the hard sell, and I’m happy that I'll be able to put my print knowledge to good use as I introduce the business to new customers.”
Solopress installed a new HP Indigo 100K B2 digital press earlier this year, and the firm said that further investment and expansion plans were in the pipeline at its digital and litho print site, which also houses an array of finishing kit for its fast turnaround product offering.
The firm employs around 180 staff and aims to return to pre-pandemic sales levels with a £30m goal this year.
