Andrew (pictured on right in photograph) began his print career at the age of 16 at book printer William Clowes. He subsequently moved on to Whitefriars, before joining Old Woking-based Unwin Brothers in 1990.
During his time at the company, he was instrumental in installing one of the first Océ digital printing systems in the country, and was also quick to spot the potential of PUR binding. He stepped down from the firm at the end of 2004.
Sir Clive Martin, the former owner of Unwin Brothers parent MPG, said: "Mike had a tremendously positive outlook and was always upbeat in adversity – he still had a smile on his face even when the going was tough."
Andrew is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter, and two stepsons.
His funeral takes place at 2pm tomorrow (7 April) at All Saints Church in Mundesley, North Norfolk.
