Former CPI Books chief technology officer Mark Allington has joined the Gloucester print business as technical director.
Managing director Ian Smith said he was a “heavyweight technical appointment”, and commented: “Mark has a fantastic skill set and we’re delighted to have him alongside us.”
Allington had spent almost 14 years at CPI, and was involved in the group’s pan-European technical configuration.
He described the new role at Severn as “a great opportunity”.
“These are exciting times and some of the ideas and technology being introduced here is really cutting edge, so I am pleased to be a part of it,” he said.
Severn produces a range of books, journals, mailings and other commercial print materials.
The £5.8m turnover firm prides itself on its environmental credentials and ethical outlook.
It has continued to operate during the Covid-19 pandemic, and Smith reported “a bit more activity” this month.
