Hoods demise was a result of continued poor profits, despite having sales of 1.2m.
The deal included its West Midlands premises and kit, and 10 of its 14 staff have been kept on.
Fillmore managing director Bob Edwards said Hoods was a good fit geographically and by product.
We already have 1m worth of growth for next year in accounts weve taken on in the last three months. And Hoods 350 customers are likely to increase their product range from Fillmore, which in itself will increase profits, said Edwards.
The group, which employs 90, has sales of 10.7m but predicts it will hit 12m next year.
