Open to industry professionals aged 18-30, the event will include workshops, talks, and time for guests to build their networks.
Jay Burfield, creative coordinator at Fespa UK and organiser of the event, told Printweek that the idea had come after the company had seen massive demand for its 19 and 26 January training days for younger print professionals.
“The outcome of the day is simple: we want people to get stuck in, have a bit of fun and network with each other, and we want these networks to carry them through their career,” he said.
Speakers at the event will include founder of The Print Growth Academy Colin Sinclair McDermott, known as The Online Print Coach, and Mark Wright, founder of digital marketing startup Climb Online and winner of BBC’s The Apprentice.
Louise Hart, sales director at All Print Supplies, one of the companies that supported Fespa UK’s training days, said her team was excited to attend the networking day.
She said: “We believe in encouraging young creative minds into our industry and ensuring they have the right tools for them to succeed in their chosen career for years to come.
“To be asked to share our knowledge and experience of roll materials over a variety of applications and sectors is a great honour, and we are very much looking forward to meeting the industry professionals of tomorrow.”
Fespa UK has also announced the creation of a ‘Next Generation Committee’, headed up by Burfield, which will be formed of a small group of young print professionals who would like to work for the future of the industry and ensure that younger generations of printers are represented within their businesses.
Tickets for the event, which will be held at the British Car Museum in Warwick, cost £65.
