The system, a response to News International's (NI) demand to receive all ads through QuickCut, gives a 10Mb virtual LAN (local area network) directly connected to QuickCut's servers, with 2Mb dedicated to internet access.

News Stream, a dedicated gatekeeper for NI, is part of Mullis Morgan. It now plans to move to 100% internet-based traffic, replacing both ISDN and WAM!NET services.

Mullis Morgan director Keith Johnson said that the connection is "effectively just an extension of our internal network, so it delivers high-speed LAN-like performance".
