The B2 long perfector replaces a six-year-old SM 74-5 and can handle higher weight stocks, larger-format work and is more flexible than its predecessor – being able to offer seals and special colours inline.
Stuart Bennett, general manager of the West Sussex-based business, said: "We have spent money to make money. The investment ups capacity without upping staffing costs and it allows our sales people to sell a lot more work at a price attractive to clients.
"We feel our money works harder for us with this machine, with it generating more work and doing this work faster. It also gives us the potential to run it over two shifts."
Evonprint’s clients include government bodies, trade bodies and museums for which they produce a range of work including magazines and general commercial work.
The XL 75 will join a ten- and eight-colour SM 74 at the Small Dole site.
