SignUp Auto, a new product based on EskoArtwork's graphic layout application tool SignUp, allows sign and display companies to achieve "lights out", full-automated production, as well as optimised material usage and cost efficiencies.
Geert De Proost, director of EskoArtwork's Platforms Software product group, said: "The automation in SignUp Auto uses SignUp's intelligent nesting and metadata such as material and number of copies to achieve 'lights out' production, reducing errors – most notably through trial and error tests."
According to EskoArtwork, SignUp Auto increases productivity and optimises the use of print and finishing materials. The Belgium-headquartered developer added that the software was ideal as a receiver of storefront input for web-to-print, because it is able to understand and process XML and JDF files as pre-press input.
Meanwhile, new features added to the graphic layout application tool SignUp include automatic bleed to images, offcut manager, automatic white underprint generation, improved multi-page support, support for CAD data for displays and creation of Smartmarks.
De Proost said: "This update of SignUp focuses on reducing material waste by re-using cut pieces. It also enhances support for double-sided displays, multi-page PDF workflows, and can easily nest irregular shapes.
"In doing so, digital large-format printing and finishing shops get faster production throughput and are able to conserve operator time."
